Question past forms for regular verbs

How do you make past forms for regular verbs?
for example
love (ending in a vowel) you add d
try (ending in a consonant) drop the y and add ied
what about words ending in 1 vowel & i consonant
or the other wat round?

Welcome, Fairywoo.

Would you have examples of the words that confuse you?

All the best.
