A Question From The Local Examination KPDS in Turkey

Here is a question that ı think ı failed to answer in a general standart exam in Turkey. What is the correct one and why?

Re: A Question From The Local Examination KPDS in Turkey
It is D because you have a match with the question.
A - Efforts are not immensely characteristical for that period, there were no efforts.
B - Definition of itelligence did not attract some attention, it attracted huge attention-a surge og interests.
C - It was not a desire to broaden the definition, it came by 1980s.
E - The desire was not to narrow the definition. On contrary-to expand it.
D is therefore correct - Ii WERE radical new definitions, they indeed came suddenly and unexpectedly into being.

I think ı had better speak of the format of the question.
You have the find the sentence which gives the similiar meaning of the one given in bold with different words.
We can say that it is a paraphrase question.

Sorry, but you said you want somebody to explain WHICH IS THE CORRECT question and WHY... And D is the correct one.
In other words, I did find one that is similar, and answered to your question...
You are vague about what you want...

No I am not vague about it ...
Thanks for your explanation. acording to the key "D" is not the correct answer.
The answer is among the other ones but ı am asking for furher comment on the question without saying the real answer according to the key
or ı also chose the "D" as the correct one as you do ;)

Re: A Question From The Local Examination KPDS in Turkey
yes the true answer is "C", yet the option C is the one that ı eliminate at first sight because "the new interest" refers to an action which hasn't been seen before.
But as for the option C "re-appeared", not a new interest but an action which has been seen before reoccures.
So, how can we say the correct one is "C". maybe there is no validity and reliability of this question. Am ı wrong you natives especially ?
Really confused here.

Re: A Question From The Local Examination KPDS in Turkey
Look at it logically :
"The 1980s brought a new surge of new interest in expanding the definition of intelligence."
C says "During the 1980s the desire to broaden the definition of intelligence reappeared with compelling force"
The fundamental statement is that: During the 1980s there was a forceful and renewed interest in methods of enlarging the definition of intelligence in the 1980s. C is the only option that contains this argument.
