which one is correct? Do I need to keep the verbs all in the past? But LA is always located in California. It's not only located in California yesterday.

yesterday, I went to LA. It is located in California. I had a good time there.

You're correct. Keep the events in the past.

Ex: I went to L.A., (which is) in California, and I had a good time.

Just underlining what Casi said. LA's being in California isn't an event.
