the meaning
Hello, dear moderators!
Again I have some questions to you.
What is the meaning of the word "tam"? I found it in a text describing a girl dressed in a navy-blue reefer and a tam nearly the same colour of red.
Thank you in advance.

A tam is a type of hat. It is used in Scotland. I believe it is short for tam o'shanter.
