    Smile in/on my business?

I have also been spending these early days of 2007 working, not only in my business, but on my business. – what is the difference in the meaning between on my business and in my business?
    Thanks in advance
    Petr

I think, in that sentence the person means:

"in my business" = doing the daily work of my business, seeing that my customers needs are being met and that things are running as smoothly as possible

"on my business" = trying to grow my business, trying to making my business more effective and efficient
