| | could you please check these sentences for me? - Starting from the fifties the book goes over the British history, narrating the difficulties of the period following the war – those were the years of Mark growing up in a needy family (or ; in these years Mark was growing up in a needy family?)
- the catalogue contains (or presents?)
- He usually went to the theatre Arcos, actually the only theatre in his town (I want to say that where he lived there was only one theatre)
- he read the books belonging to the Communist Party (I mean the books belonging to the tradition of this Party)
- this discipline was a great teaching for (or to) him

- the catalogue contains (or presents?) either
- He usually went to the theatre Arcos, actually the only theatre in his town (I want to say that where he lived there was only one theatre) - you don't need "actually" in that case.
- he read the books belonging to the Communist Party (I mean the books belonging to the tradition of this Party) Are these books issued by the Communist Party or about the Communist Party or about Communism as a political theroy?
- this discipline was a great teaching for (or to) him lesson OR taught him a great deal.

| | Re: could you please check these sentences for me? No, if they are books written by these authors, then "books written by leading Communists/Communist thinkers/Communist theorists".
Definitely not "Communist Party" - Marx wrote before it existed. |

| | Re: could you please check these sentences for me? YES, right!
My question is: apart from this, is it possible to say that a book "belongs" to an ideology, or a genre (for instance: Wordsmorth's works belong to romanticism)? |

| | Re: could you please check these sentences for me? A book can "belong" to a genre or ideology - Tolkien's works belong to the genre of fantasy; Marx's works belong to the theory of politics; Adam Smith's works belong to the field of economy. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
