| | military deferment? hi,
2 questions:
1) military service is compulsory for males over 18 here. but if the person is a student at university, he can delay this duty after his graduation. what is this called? I found smth like 'military deferment' but I guess it's about some kind of loans..
2)if the person has some certain medical problems, he doesn't have to do his military service, what is this called?
thanks in advance... |

| | Re: military deferment? "Postpone" is fine.
For (2) the person would be exempted from military duty. |

| | Re: military deferment? In America, we call any excused mandatory military service a "military deferrment." There are different types of deferrments (medical, hardship, educational, etc.), but they are all called deferments. |
