Default What do you think is a right response?

What do you think is a right response?

Answer is (B), but how about (D)?

(D) sounds awkward as a response to man's saying?

M: How much does that come to?
W: That will be $56.75, sir.
M: OK... Oh, my gosh. I left my wallet at home.
Can I write you a check?
W: __________________________________________________ ____

(A) Sure. we accept Visa, Master, and Amex.
(B) I am afraid we don't accept personal checks.
(C) Yes, I can write you one.
(D) Let me check with it first.
