Default lock name

the lock that is open by a password is called a componetion lock
what about a lock that's open by a key a key lock?

what is a pad lock?

Componetion lock? Maybe you are refering to ''combination lock''.

I've never heard of 'a key lock'. Outside the building trade, one would say 'a lock that uses/needs/opens with a key'. For more information than a layman [someone who isn't a specialist] is likely to need, click here
