Default outdoors vocabulary

Hi

I went hiking last week and I want to write about the trip, but I feel limited due to my lack of outdoors vocabulary (English is not my native language) how could I expend my vocabulary? I’m reading now a book about the outdoors. I look up sometimes-new words in a dictionary, but I can look up every word I don’t know. I will not enjoy reading the story if I need to pause for every 4th word

Thanks in advance

Default Re: outdoors vocabulary

You could describe the trees (were they in full bloom, covered with leaves? Or were the branches bare?), the weather (was it hot? humid? windy? cold? sunny? cloudy?), and your feelings (did you enjoy the hike? were you exhausted by the time you were done? did you eat a picnic lunch along the trail?)
