apostrophe question

If I wanted to say I was a manufacturers representative, would it have an apostrophe st the end of the s or not? - ie manufacturuers vs. manufacturers'

Are you representing one manufacturer or more than one? You will need an apostrophe =

Manufacturer's representative if only one
Manufacturers' representative if more than one.

For some reason, many English learners think that you cannot use an apostrophe with anything other than a person, so "manufacturer's representative" seems like it must be wrong.
