Default [HELP] A small question !

    Dear : Teacher

At first i'm very grateful for your helps. Thanks you for helping me whenever i make questions.

Today, i have a small question. I have done it but i'm not sure whether it is right or not. Hope you will help me to check my answer.

Find 1 error in this sentence and correct it

I would sooner be taken to the place where we first met each other

A lot of my friends said the error is "sooner" and they corrected it to "soon". I'm sure they are wrong. As far as i know, we can you "would rather/sooner do sth than do sth" so that the error cant be "sooner".

In my opinion, the error is "each other". Am i right? Some verbs cant go with "each other" such as "to marry,...".

Thanks for helping me ! Sorry for my bad English !

Thanks Casiopea for replying my post. According to your answer, i can find the incorrect word.
The new sentence after being corrected is :
I would soon be taken to the place ~
Is it the final answer? Sorry for my bad English.

The "correction" to soon changes the meaning entirely!

I would sooner be taken to the place where we first met each other than to a new location is perfectly okay.

I would soon be taken... this sounds like you are relating a story about some that did happen, and you have paused at this point in time to change tenses. It's not at ALL the same meaning of stating a preference for where you'd rather go.

As for the "marry each other" - that's very common. Can you ask others who have have told you NOT to do that what they meant? Perhaps they think that only a member of the clergy or a judge can do the marrying. Father John married Pete and Melody yesterday. But it's also used by the couple themselves. We got married a year ago today.
