Default vested interest that is political

Talks between Gurjar leaders and the Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje government have hit a roadblock. They were expected to begin in Jaipur at the Chief Ministers residence. But in a clear hardening of stand Gurjar Sangharsh Samiti Col Kirori Singh Bhainsla is not ready to come to Jaipur unless there are concrete proposals from the government.

The outcome of these talks could pave the way to perhaps a political solution to the unrest in Rajasthan.

Rajasthan continues to remain volatile on day six of the Gurjar protests. Raje had last night said she will hold talks with Bhainsla to finalise the agreement.

"I will be reaching Jaipur today to discuss the matter with chief minister," Bhainsla had said earlier.

The fourth round of talks between the Gurjar leaders and the Rajasthan government ended without any result in Jaipur in the evening but both sides agreed to meet again.

Bhainsla accused the government of stonewalling the community’s efforts to get ST status.

“The government is deliberately delaying and denying due to polical reasons and vested interest that is political. If only recommendation had to be sent, it could have been done earlier and everything would have been harmonious,” said Bhainsla

I understood the highlighted one as (the government shown interest wich is political and avoided the Rajasthan matter).
Please explain the highlighted one.

Default Re: vested interest that is political

vested interest
vested interest: Definition and Much More from Answers.com
(Number three is particulary relevant here.)

vested interest. The New Dictionary of Cultural Literacy, Third Edition. 2002
vested interest - definition of vested interest by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.

That should pretty much cover it.
