Re: much/many
So, 'Three years have passed' but 'Three years is a short time."
-
Re: much/many
Yes.
In other words, and speaking of years:
[1] Many years have gone by. <count>
[2[ Much time has gone by. <non-count>

So, Three years have passed is incorrect.
It should be Three years have gone by.

Re: much/many
Note the phrase in other words.
Passed and gone by are synonymous.

Thanks for the clarification.

Which is the correct sentence?
Many thanks.
I wouldn't use either of those, I would use
'it takes as long as two hours to get to the station.'
The sentence is talking about a period of time, not a quantity of hours, so it is a bit odd to use much or many

If it is the end of the sentence, it gets a full stop. If it isn't the end of the sentence, it doesn't get a full stop. That applies in both British and American English.
Best wishes,

Hi, Koh! Casiopea asks how her punctuation is.
I think her English is good. Don't you think so?

I would say I have never detected any punctuation errors in her replies to me. So it should be a score of 100%. As for her English, it should be also 100%.
I think I need some coaching in punctuation. Please point out to me any errors in punctuation in all my posts. It would be much appreciated.
Best wishes.

I'll gladly help you improve your punctuation, of course. Why don't you ask Casiopea? Her punctuation is much better.
