    Default more and more

Do I always have to apply the continuous form of a verb, using the phrase more and more?

More and more people are taking to their bikes as an alternative to driving or using public transport.
Life was becoming more and more difficult.

    Hi engee30,

Do I always have to apply the continuous form of a verb, using the phrase more and more?
No, you could say something like:

'Use of private cars and public transport is in decline as more and more people take to their bikes.'

'Life had grown more and more difficult.'

    Hope this helps.

Red face Re: more and more

Now that I know I can use a simple or even a perfect form of a verb with more and more, I need to know whether there is a difference in meaning?
