Could you please explain what the following expressions in bold type mean in easy English?

Traditionally, about 60% of every dollar of UPS revenue has gone to its employees on wages and benefits..... That percentage, higher than most companies, puts teeth behind the UPS adage, "People are our most important asset."....... And the company does right by employees compared to other global corporations. As an example, today's drivers earn top wages for union members---$70,000 and more per year. Drivers get between six and nine weeks paid leave each year.

In this paragraph, "puts teeth behind" means "strongly supports" or "provides strong evidence for."

"Does right by employees" means "treats its employees very well."
