I didn't put two thousand by mistake
A : I owe the car to you.
B : Yes, A, that's what's worrying me.
A : Worrying you, A?
B : Yes. That cheque I gave you for your wedding present -- it was only two hundred pounds, wasn't it? I - I didn't put two thousand by mistake?
Could you explain what the `B' mean the highlighed words/phrases?

A bought an expensive car. B wonders how A could have afforded it. B recalls giving A a cheque for 200 pounds, which isn't enough to buy an expensive car. So, do A's words I owe the car to you mean that B paid for the car; that B's cheque had an extra 0, making it 2,000 pounds, not 200? B questions that.
Does that help?
