Should this setence be "....the garden will need watering."?

It's OK the way it is. It means,

1. The garden needs watering now. (Present)
2. The garden needs watering every week. (Routine)

If we add 'will', we get a new meaning:

1. The garden will need watering in the future. (Routine)
2. The garden will need to be watered in the future.
