Could anyone tell me the meaning of "What hath God wrought?"

wrought - This is not a common word at all. See the dictionary definition below. (worked - This is the past tense and past participle of "work", of course.

wrought (rôt)
v.
A past tense and a past participle of work.

adj.
Put together; created: a carefully wrought plan.
Shaped by hammering with tools. Used chiefly of metals or metalwork.
Made delicately or elaborately.

hath - This is an archaic (old) word. It means "has". No one uses "hath". You might see it in literary works and expressions like the one you are asking about.

hath (hăth)
v. Archaic.
Third person singular present tense of have.


What hath God wrought? = What has God done? What did God do? What has God created? What is this work that God has done and what does it mean?
