Hi, I've been reading an article and I found this sentence:
"The organization is still active as of 2007"
I've never heard "as of", does it mean "until, as far as"? thanks!

For example, As of five o'clock the store will be closed for inventory, or As of last December our meetings have been open to the public, or As of now I'm not sure how I'll vote.
But the word ''still'' is odd...
Are you missing some part of the sentence?
