| That depends on how tense is defined. Everyone has an opinion on the matter, and there doesn't seem to be a consensus yet. (See one poll here). You wouldn't be wrong, though, if you said that there are only two tenses in English, past and non-past. As for the kinds of verbs there are, there's a verb list here: Verb Tense Chart |
