    Sony lifted the lid on its Portable Sony PlayStation (PSP), a games console which will also play music and video.


    excuse me, " lifted the lid on...."----- what does this mean here ?

    Revealed it- when you lift the lid, you can see what is underneath. It is like 'unveiled'.
