Is there any rules about the position of the adverb "AFTERWARD(S)" in a sentence?
Is wrong to write, "I greeted him afterwards, we had talked about his pet"???????
Please explain....![]()
Thanx and more POWEEEEEEER~!!!!!
That's OK, as long as the previous sentence tells us about the event that 'afterwards' referes to.
I think that it is not wrong what you said! But the word afterwards has a place in a sentence which cannot be changed!
I hope I will help u with these explanations! If you need help for sth else write back to me!
- After cannot be used alone as a linking word to join one thing that happens with another thing that happens after that. Instead, use (and) then, (and) afterwards, or (and after that:
- EXAMPLE: We went to a party and afterwards we went to a club!
All I can say is, "THANK A LOT" for the explaination.![]()
