Either the interviewer or the committee members usually begins by asking simple questions about your background.
Is this the correct way to use this sentance for subject verb agreement?

If you have more than one subject in an "or" clause, the verb should agree with its closest subject.
Either the interviewer or the members begin...
Either the members or the interviewer begins...
