They are relative synonyms. I would rearrange them, though:
Al/though I lay on the/my bed, I couldn`t sleep all through the night / all night/all night long.
The verb "lie" is a confusable word when comparing it with "lay" or even with "lie to smb."
to lie[intransitive verb] -lay- lain = recline
to lay [transitive verb] - laid - laid = put
to lie to smb. -lied -lied [regular verb] = tell a lie; not to tell the truth
