driving instructer is outside the house
the driving instructer is outside of the house

I’ve to say:

The driving instructor is outside the house. U
The driving instructor is outside of the house. W

The reason is that ‘outside’ is already a preposition, the ‘of’ is unnecessary. Some might say it’s just informal, it’s not wrong.
