at a glance immediately and without having to make a close study
at first glance initially or on first examination

I think these examples will help you.

Although we haven't seen each other for ages, I recognized him at a glance.(at once)

He could tell at a glance what was wrong with the car.(have a quick eye for something)

He took in the scene at a glance.
