Punctuating Adjective Clauses Dear teachers,
(a) The teacher pointed to the maps that were hanging on the rear wall of the classroom.
(b) The teacher pointed to the maps, which were hanging on the rear wall of the classroom.
My comprehension of (a) are
(1) No commas are used;
(2) Adj Clause is to identify the maps
My comprehension of (b) are
(1) Commas are used;
(2) Adj Clause simply gives additional information about the location of the maps.
I don't see any differences that may contrast the meaning in the pairs. Would you pls help me with this? Thank you.
