| | Re: Good Vocabulary Hello Sting,
I find it useful to record new vocabulary onto tape, and then play it back to myself on a Walkman when I'm travelling, etc.
It's better (I think) to record the meaning in your first language first, then leave a slight pause, then record the word in the second language.
Other members may have other suggestions!
All the best,

| | Re: Good Vocabulary Don't try to learn long lists of words- it is often better to learn a few at a time, then use them to fix them in your memory. Also, try to learn words that are useful to you; for example, a doctor will need to know different words and terms from a lawyer. |

Find a forum where people discuss subjects that are of particular interest to you (e.g. football, films, wildlife) and join in. The best way to learn vocabulary is to use it.

We probably learn more from posing questions in foreign languages and trying to understand the answers than from the answers themselves.
