This is all very well as long as you do not turn down somebody offhand just because (s)he is a non-native.

A non-native's opinion you deem as doubtable, questionable, without a second thought; on the other hand, when a native comes with their unquestionable authority, you take what they say as gospel truth.
I do not agree with you in this respect.
