Default WHAT and WHO

"God judges everyone on who, not what, they are."

In the above sentence, what does WHO mean and what does WHAT mean? What's the best paraphrase? Thanks.

"God is not a respecter of persons."(KJV)

God doesn't care what you're position in society is, whether you are a beggar or a glorius billionaire, we are all the same in God's eyes. God looks at who you are --- what you did with you're life, whether you obeyed or disobeyed His commands. This I think is who you are to Him.

I forgot to say that I'm just an avid worshipper of GOD and not a teacher!

So is "who they are" a born quality, or an acquired quality? Usually WHO is often regarded as a born quality expressing identity.

I believe WHO is your identity, yes. As the bible says that man was made from the image of God so all have the same prototype, which is God Himself, and that's what God sees when he looks at you and not the "WHO you are" now that you have acquired in your years of stay here on earth!

God is not a respecter of persons!

Do you think the above interpretation you gave could produce the following sentence instead the sentence listed above?

God judges everyone on what, not who, they are."

I got this from a song:
"I don't care who you are, what you did..."

From this I could say that "WHO" is the person itself. As what you said the identity or the "being" talked about like "ian"/blouen" While the "WHAT" is something the "WHO" has accomplished.

So God looks at you and not at what you have accomplished in your life.

I would like to see the 1st post's expression.
"God judges everyone on who, not what, they are."
