I come off the book because it has erroneous information.
Please correct my sentence.
It should be "went off", not "come off"; you are confusing come and go.
I applied the following meaning in my sentence to mean, "I stoped using/reading this book because it has wrong/incorrect infromation".
come off sth (STOP USING) phrasal verb MAINLY UKIf you come off medicine or drugs, you stop using them:
He's come off the tablets because they were making him dizzy.
That is a very specific use and is the only place you will find it. It is not transferable to other usages.
