you cannot eat education - meaning?
What was the context for this?
Perhaps it means that when you have no food, it doesn't make sense to spend money on schooling?
I'm not a teacher, but my dictionary (Reader's Digest Complete Wordfinder) specifies that "school" can correctly function not only as a noun but also as a verb.
For example,
"She has received extensive schooling in linguistics."
"He is thoroughly schooled in international politics."
Both of these sound just fine to me.
Is this what you meant?
