    Default Possible VS Probable

    Dear Teacher,

What's the different between " possible" and "probable"?
Success is possible but hardly probable.
    Thank you!

    Default Re: Possible VS Probable

Saying something is "possible" means that thing could happen. We don't necessarily know how likely it is to happen; we just know that it's not impossible. (it's like the Chinese 'ke neng de')

Saying something is "probable" means that it is more likely to happen than it is to not happen. The chance of that thing happening is more than 50%. (it's like the Chinese 'hen ke neng de')
