It’s actually becoming a nagging doubt for me as to whether “forget (v)” collocates with “of” or not.
I’ve seen more than a few number of instances of that but I could found nothing in any dictionary I could reach for (even the collocation one).
Any hint would be much appreciated.e.g. Forget of it. (instead of: forget about it.)
It does not collocate with "of" - the examples you have met are wrong.
