    Default go by

I come across the sentence, "As the runners went by, we cheered them on", in my dictionary.

Similarly, I framed a few sentences. Please look at it to correct it.

"The times when she went by the road, I could see her by my house itself".

"As the time went by, she looked calm".

    Please help me.

"The times when she went by the road, I could see her by my house itself".No - what you are saying in the first part is that she travelled on the road and not (for instance) on the railway. "went by" here means "went past". You can say "As she went by me on the road" = she went past me on the road

"As the time went by, she looked calm". OK

    Please help me.

    Thank you Anglika :

Here are few more sentences -
    (1) I was sitting upon the table when she was going by my house.

    (2) I threw my love letter onto her when she was going by my house.

    (3) She went by me while I was walking slowly.
    Please correct them.

    (2) I threw my love letter onto her when she was going by my house. Again, grammatically ok, but a very odd way of behaving. "I threw my love letter to her when ..."
