Italy or Italia?

I've seen "Italy" and I've also seen "Italia". Do they have the same meaning?

If they don't have the same meaning, then when do we use "Italy" and when do we use "Italia"?

Italy is commonly used in English lang .May be you have find Italia in a translated text(from Italian to English)and the narrator preferred not to translate it.
But what is sure : Italia is used in the Italian lang and Italy is in English

Also - though this doesn't always apply to the Italian football team - newspaper reports in English newspapers often use the local spelling for a foreign team: Manchester United lost to Roma in their European Cup match last night but We're going to Rome for our holidays.
