hi, my teachers
"Morgue" , "funeral parlour", "funeral home": a building or room where dead bodies are kept before burial or cremation.
We , in Islamic world , have special rooms where dead bodies are washed , embalmed , coffin and instantly carried to graveyard.
My question is this:
Can I call our own room “a Necrory “?![]()
What do you think?
Thank you in advance
Perhaps:
- burial preparation room
Or:
- funerary chamber
(I don't think necrory would catch on.)
:)
'Morgue' carries the idea of preparation, imo. I don't think the demands of time matter.

I have to disagree with Tdol on this one. A morgue is where bodies are stored, but not for the purpose of embalming. Bodies at the morgue tend to be the bodies of those who have met with foul play. They are either there for the purpose of autopsy or to await identification by the next of kin. Possibly both.
