How long is a piece of string?

Can you be more explicit? I imagine there are very many names for haircuts, mostly specific to the barber or hairdresser.

    That's it!!!
I want to know what you call those cuts. How about the most common ones.

    - Here in my country, we had this "barber's cut" -- The barber would only trim the side and the back only, and depends on the person's preference if her has to trim the front and top as well...
"the semi-kalbo" - really short cut, close to being bald....
"military cut" - on armies usually, also a bit short!
"flat top" - the name openly suggests that it's flat on top
"crew-cut" - usually seen on naval crews

What do you call it there?

What do you call it when the hair is divided to two sides, left and right? We call it "hati" or "half" in English.

We call the hair 'parted down the middle' or 'with a centre parting', but I don't believe we have a noun that refers specifically to that sort of hair-style (though professional hairdressers - or, for men, 'barbers') might.

    Hi Bob!

How about when you get to your barber, what do you say your hair cut would be?

Me? A barber? Those were the days!

Many years ago, I used to ask for 'a short back and sides'. In those days people who went to barbers didn't have centre partings.
