People who only use machines like microwaves for very basic uses don't need lots of options- on/off and a timer is probably enough for reheating food.

Something is missing here, but the idea is, again, that advertisers stress how many things phones can do now, while many people still only use them for the basic making/receiving calls functions, and don't need videos and internet access, etc.
