Default correction

Dear Teachers! :D
Please check the following sentences. If something is wrong, please write why :D

1 I woudn't stay at/in the home.
2 I don't know what to wait of him.
3 He spent a lot of money to it.
4 The house had incresed in value since they bought it.
5 They lived in a/the small town.

Well, I am not a teacher, just some personal comments...
1 I wouldn't stay at home ( if it's your own home I don't think we need "the"?)
2 No comments
3 He spent a lot of money on it.
4 I feel that it's not correct, but not sure how to correct it. What about this: The house's value has been increasing since they bought it.
5 Depends on the context. If the town is not mentioned earlier, then "a".

4. The house has appreciated since they bought it. OR The house has
increased in value since they bought it.
5. They lived in a small town. (If the town hasn't been mentioned before)
