What's the meaning of these expressions?
1-Mother Leeds was brought to bed in child birth.
2-The traveler took the fiddle, played the turn of the tune and finished it.(just undelined part)
#1 - Mother Leeds was producing a baby - she was in labour.
#2 "turn of the tune" - the old man in the story could only remember part of a tune; the fiddler knows the whole tune. The point at which the old man's playing stops and the fiddler's continues is "the turn of the tune".
