Cool sign off

Hello,
I am translating a plan for quality control system implementation and I cannot get throught the following sentence: "Autonomous Production Units sign off work instruction from operators."
What is the author trying to say? That production units cancel work operation? Is that correct?
Thanks for your help.

Marketa.

Default Re: sign off

Sign off can mean to give approval, but that doesn't make a great deal of sense to me. It can mean to log off, which seems more likely here.
