When someone tells you to make a wild guess, they're asking you to answer the question even though you have absolutely no idea what the answer might be. They usually know in advance that your answer won't be correct or even may be completely illogical.


"Guess who I saw at the supermarket today?"
"I have no idea."
"Take a wild guess."
"I don't know.....Elvis Presley??"

When being asked to make a wild guess, I usually say the wildest thing that I could think of during that moment. It´s fun.
