Hello
I have read this phrase lastly;
Speaking of fascinating countries.
Is't correct? And can I just say ; speaking about fascinating countries??
Could you possible give the full context? It makes it so much easier to answer.
I can't write the full context, but it cames as the follow:
one someone describe a specific country as 'fascinating' , then continue writing about it, and other issues related to it,
Then, he/she would like to write or speak about another country that is fascinating too , and he just seemed remember it because it's as fascinating as the the first one, so, he wrote ; ' speaking of fascinating countries'
I am not sure if I made it clear.
This "speaking of interesting countries" is like a rejoinder- someone said something and it brought something else to your mind, like in this conversation:
-Oh, we ate such a great cake at grandmas yesterday!
- Speaking of food, I am hungry
or
- Do You know how much I earned this week?
- Speaking of money, you still owe me $100!
Normally we use "speaking about". Hope it makes sense :)
