To pronounce 'th' as in 'mother', make the sound [z], feel the vibration in your throat (it's called "voicing"), then, make 'th' by placing the tip of your tongue outward between your teeth.

To pronounce 'th' as in 'thank you', make the sound [s], feel there is no vibration in your throat (it's called voicelessness), then, make 'th' by placing the tip of your tongue outward between your teeth.

There are two sounds for 'th': One sound is voiced, as in 'the', 'them', 'that', 'mother', 'father', 'brother', and the other sound is voiceless, as in 'think', 'thumb', 'thank you'.

If you forget to place your tongue between your front teeth, you'll produce the sounds, [z] and [s].

All the best,
