Semicolon Can semicolon be used to separate independent clauses more than once in a sentence? I know it can be used this way when used to separate grammatically complex items in a list, but it's a different case. Swan says nothing about it; neither says any book I looked in, or I overlooked the mention. I suppose, then, it's not forbidden though might be considered inelegant, in which case it may be used if a writer (the experienced one) wishes to use it as a means of expression. Am I right?
Thanks,
