As a noun:

Influence = the power or ability to affect someone’s beliefs or actions, or to produce a physical change.
Effect = a change which is a result or consequence of an action or other cause

As a verb:

Influence = have an influence on, affect someone/something
Effect = cause to happen; bring about.
