Default relative pronoun

Hello, everyone. It is very hot in Japan now.
.
I have a problem about relative pronoun.

It seems to me that articles and a relative pronoun in the first sentence is incorrect, because "the growth hormones that..." implies some kinds of growth hormones stimulate bone formation and others not. So I try rewriting( the second sentence). Is the second right?

1. Weightlessness in Space cuts off the growth hormones that usually stimulate bone formation to balance the bone decomposition.

2. Weightlessness in Space cuts off growth hormones, which usually stimulate bone formation to balance bone decomposition.

Thanks in advance.

The meaning as you have said is different, so it is more a question of science than languae. If some growth hormones do not affect bone formation, then the first is right. If they all do, then yours is.

Hi, Veron1
Glad to hear you like my name.
Do you know what mochi means in Japanese, or "mochi" means anything in your language?
