kiss
What do you call the common kiss nowadays that only the cheeks touch, no lips involved. Only common to women, seems odd if you see it with men
.

Re: kiss
I have heard it called "an air kiss." I don't know that it has an official name.

Re: kiss
They gave each other an air kiss.

Re: kiss
So, when we use "kiss", it mean using lip and lip.
Is it right?

Re: kiss
Blouen, do you have the name for such a kiss in your native language? In Polish there is no such so maybe in English there isn't either?

Re: kiss
The exchanged an air kiss, perhaps?
If I were writing a novel, I'd probably say something like "They pressed their cheeks together and made that 'mwuh' noise that passes for an affectionate greeting between women who care more for the state of their make-up than for each other."

hi Nyggus. try to use Your imagination and visualize two girls exchanging that 'air kiss' (confused about the name
). I guess 'mwuh' is an Onomatopoeia and it should be pronounced like /mwa/ or /mw(vowel szwa)
ps
I'd give my right arm (to be cut) for possibility of inserting IPA symbols to the posts! ;)
regards.
